Health community based on the concept of One Health and offers practical solutions to health problems in Africa
Project start date : 13/09/2019
Last updated : 15/04/2024
Beneficiary country : Senegal
What problem does the initiative address ?
Nowadays we have a lot of social networks for the general public (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.) and many others for healthcare professionals (REMA, Medizzy, Hidoc Dr, etc.), but we do not have a many social networks that directly connect health professionals and the general public.
Detailed description of the initiative
In order to reach the maximum number of people (including illiterates), Le Corpus Médical offers awareness and health education videos in French, English and several local languages. These videos are posted on social networks (Youtube, Whatsapp, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.) as well as on the company’s social network. Le Corpus Médical also organises awareness-raising and screenings, as well as first aid training workshops in suburban areas, schools and institutions, for youth groups, etc. By facilitating access to information, the enterprise then allows to educate the population on the management of emergencies of in general (thus overcoming the palpable deficit of the prerequisites in emergency management, in particular road accidents in our countries) and the prevention of serious and/or chronic illnesses.
Le Corpus Médical also familiarizes students with the concept of personal development and entrepreneurship by helping them to carry out projects with a relatively high social impact. Many of our projects are in the development stage (system sponsorship) and leverage the payment of health insurance for Talibés and deprived people in general; mobile applications proposing a solution to already identified problems and creation of specialized software and machines in the field of health that can be used by our health facilities, etc.).
To counter the difficulty of access to medical and paramedical equipment in our countries, the company has set up an online shop with accessible products, while injecting a dose of novelties in the local market.
Le Corpus Médical is the bearer of many innovative ideas and a revolutionary vision that go in the direction of the Sustainable Development Goals. It is a network of students of several nationalities and branches (health, agro-food, computer science, mechanics, electricity, economy, etc.).
What is the proposed solution added value ?
Le Corpus Médical, in order to redefine the concept of health in Africa and to address the lack of communication between health professionals and the general public, has set up a social network dedicated solely to health, bringing together the general public and any direct and indirect health actor (doctors, pharmacists, dentists, midwives, nurses, biologists, environmentalists, biologists, chemists, nutritionists, veterinarians, economists, students, etc.). By connecting all these people, the social network will allow everyone to raise awareness, educate and debate about health with different approaches because giving freedom of expression to all.
