PASS SANTE MOUSSO
A Digital Personalized Medical File, a tool for responding to emergency care
Project start date : 07/07/2016
Last updated : 15/04/2024
Beneficiary country : Benin Burkina Faso Ivory Coast Senegal Togo
What problem does the initiative address ?
Firefighters, doctors, hospital staff and emergency doctors are confronted daily with the victims of illness, accidents or falls without having immediate access to their medical file, which can be serious when it comes to helping people whose medical history is unknown in case of emergency. The following problems are thus resolved:
1- Providing care and medical follow-up to patients with serious injuries
2- Lack of critical data on disease and illness
3- Difficulty of identifying and prioritizing the causes of mortality, diseases and other illnesses mainly in women
4- Difficulty of establishing an effective and efficient health policy.
Detailed description of the initiative
The PASS SANTE MOUSSO is a connected accessory (bracelet or medallion), associated with an online platform. It enables those wearing the accessory to carry their personal and medical data with them wherever they go and to make it available, if necessary, to medical professionals. In addition to these clinical data communication functions, the PASS SANTE MOUSSO compacts communicating medical devices as well as “Health Record” data to effectively capture and share all the information relating to the clinical examination. The PASS SANTE MOUSSO therefore facilitates the work of health professionals while improving patient care, speeding up diagnosis with the additional information it provides, and above all, maintaining continuous medical surveillance. Dedicated web and mobile apps have been designed in collaboration with healthcare professionals to provide a simplified and efficient “user experience”. These are based on new uses of mobile and connected devices. The quick, user-friendly and permanent adoption is suitable for men and women of all ages. Once the individual’s profile has been filled in, the encrypted personal data is transmitted to the PASS SANTE MOUSSO and is only accessible by authorized third parties (doctors/ hospitals and data owner and/or family if authorized). No prior configuration is necessary and the real-time transmission of the transmitted values is immediately available to medical staff, effortlessly and without error. The focus is therefore on the reliability of data and the quality of information transmission, and the number of contact persons potentially encountered in the context of health care may be important. Implementing the project was of particular interest in Côte d’Ivoire, as statistics concerning the number of deaths related to medical errors (medical accidents) were not reported. Lack of information could be the cause of medical errors and non-alteration in the transmission of information is a major component of PASS SANTE MOUSSO.
What is the proposed solution added value ?
National health systems have great difficulty in managing clinical records. Thus, analyzes, diagnoses, interventions and the entire clinical history of a patient would be within the reach of all physicians, anywhere and anytime.
This would: – collect and retrieve data more efficiently than today’s tools; – to facilitate the work of health professionals, while improving patient care; – speed up diagnosis with the additional information they provide; – Maintain continuous medical surveillance.
